I've been away for quite some time now but lately I've been itching to get back into blogging/video making. I'll probably start off slow by just posting on here a few times a week and then work my way back into Youtube! I started filming videos a while back but had just begun a new job at the time. So basically all my free time was spent doing chores (and sleeping!). The content of my blog and channel will range from fashion, beauty and lifestyle. I'll even be doing daily vlogs of just random stuff. I'm really excited to start this new journey and I hope you'll be excited with me! Stay tuned! :)

EOS Alice In Wonderland Limited Edition Lip Balm Set Review!
Hey everyone! As you can see from the title, today I'm going to be reviewing the new Alice In Wonderland themed EOS lip balms. I didn't hear about these until I saw photos of them popping up all over Instagram. Once I saw them I decided to run out to Target the next day and find them. Turns out my local Target didn't get them in yet which I found out after running around the beauty isles for 15 minutes, lol. So, a week later I took a trip to the store again and finally found them!
The set comes with three balms. They all have Alice In Wonderland inspired names. Starting from the top is Sweet Vanilla Nonsense, Watermelon Wonderland, and Blueberry Potion. I was most excited for the vanilla scent but in my opinion, it isn't as strong as the others. The other two are strong enough so you can smell them but not overpowering. Blueberry Potion smells like something familiar but I can't put my finger on it.
The packing of these were super cute! It was so simple yet the little Alice pattern was adorable. Also, once you remove the packaging there is a little sort of shadow box. It has graphics of characters and such from the movie, and the quote, "Very few things indeed were really impossible". It repeats that phrase in French which I enjoyed since I do speak it from taking it in high school. I keep it on a shelf now cause I think it's a cute little decoration. Now onto the actual packing of the balms. They're still in their normal egg-shaped case which I have always loved. The only thing that really changed is the little finger grip on the sides. This time those grips are in the shape of a Mickey Mouse head. I was kinda disappointed by that part since this is Alice In Wonderland themed. I know it's a Disney movie but still. It would have been cute if the packing looked like characters from the movie like the Cheshire Cat or something.
Overall, I really like these as much as the others I own. The only thing I wish is that the packaging was a little more creative but I guess that's a minor complaint. If you can't find these at your local Target, they will be available at Walgreens, Target.com, and Walmart.com this upcoming November. Have you picked up this set? If not, happy hunting!

Light swatches with no flash
The first shadow is a matte black. It is pretty pigmented but it's just a tad on the chalky side which makes it a little difficult to blend. This would be a good black to have if you're doing a smokey eye and like to build up color to an intensity you're comfortable with. I like to use this to line my top and bottom lashes when I don't want to use an eyeliner.
The second shadow is a brown with purple/red tones. When looking at this shadow in person you can see the slight purple sheen to it. When swatched it's not as apparent. This shadow is definitely more pigmented than the first, but that's most likely because the finish of the two are different. I think this shadow is wearable for day and night. It also makes a very nice crease color.
The packaging of the duo is round and pretty compact. You can easily throw this into your makeup bag/purse to carry with you for touch ups. Also there is a bottom compartment to this duo where I believe it held a small applicator. So if you want to pack one of those with you for application you can just stick it in there.
As I said this is one of my favorite duos because the colors are versatile. I can use one for eyeliner and wear the other as a shadow. Scroll down below for more pictures of this duo.

Hair 101, Part 2 - Managing + Styling My Hair!
Ok so to continue my Hair 101 post, here's part 2! I'm going to go through all the products I use to wash + style my hair.
Herbal Essences Hydralicious Self-Targeting Shampoo + Conditioner
I usually wash my hair every other day or every two days, depending on how oily/limp my hair looks. I LOVE Herbal Essences shampoos and conditioners. My favorites are the Hydralicious. Right now I am currently using the pink one but they also have a purple and an orange. I find that the conditioner doesn't weigh down my hair at all. They also smell really good, too! I'll probably be doing a full review on these in the future.
Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Instant Repair Treatment
Every now and then I feel like my hair needs extra conditioning. As I mentioned in part 1 of my Hair 101, I have dyed my hair in the past and I'm still in the process of growing out my last dye job. The ends of my hair are extremely dry and having a deep conditioner can help. I wouldn't say this is my favorite deep conditioner but I picked it up on sale for $1.99 at Walgreens a few months ago. I really love the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeeep Conditioner so I would recommend that one. I usually just apply this one from the bottom of my ear, down to the ends of my hair. I keep it in while I wash my face or body and then rinse it out.
John Frieda 3-day Straight Semi-Permanent Styling Spray
John Frieda Weather-Proofing Style Sealant Creme
I'm a huge fan of the John Frieda Frizz-Ease line as you can see. I do have a case of the frizzies, so it's good to have a products that can combat it. First up is the 3-day Straight styling spray. This product is actually meant for curly hair which I do not have. Like I mentioned before my hair is wavy-ish naturally. The purpose of this spray is to give you curly-haired girls straight hair that should last up to 3 days. Now because my hair isn't curly I don't know how this would work for you. But I will say if your hair is wavy and you don't want to run a straightener through it, this is a better alternative. Basically I spray this throughout my hair, brush it to make sure it's evenly distributed, add in the other products I use and then blow dry my hair. After doing all that, my hair has A LOT of volume. For a girl with fine hair it's sort of a struggle to get volume without having to tease the roots a bit. With this routine though, I get volume. The Weather-Proofing spray is meant to seal out effects that the weather might have on your hair. This brings us back to the frizz factor because humidity is the main cause of my frizz. I don't put this in my hair every day but when I know it's humid out I do. I spread this through my hair evenly while my hair is still damp.

Protecting your hair from heat is another big factor in maintaining your hair. Especially if you're applying heat to it every day. I have two different heat protectors that I use. The first one is the Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray, and the second is the John Frieda Heat Defeat(another product from the Frizz-Ease line!). I'm not really sure how you're supposed to tell if they're working or not but if it's meant to protect, no harm in using it!
That pretty much sums up my Hair 101. I don't use too many products on my hair because it can be weighed down pretty easily but those are ones I do use and love. I hope you all enjoy these posts!

Hair 101, Part 1! - Hair History + Hair Horror Story
To begin my first post on this blog I thought it'd be fun to do a Hair 101! I'm going to split this into two posts and begin today with my hair's past and present. Look out tomorrow for the second half where I talk about the products I use to maintain my hair and how I style it.
I have fine hair, always have and always will. Am I a fan of it? Well, to be honest, I wish I had thicker hair. I envy you thick-haired girls! I always go to the hair salon for a cut and bring a picture along and most of the time the hairdresser will tell me that the cut just can't be done. Why? Because my hair is fine. Most of the cuts I want have many layers and such, and with fine hair it just can't happen unless I want to look silly. In result, I haven't cut my hair since I took my senior picture which was...a year and eight months ago. Crazy, I know. My hair is also naturally wavy. I don't have extreme waves but my hair certainly isn't straight either.
I have dyed my hair before. A total of about 3 times. I haven't had the best luck with boxed dyes :P Naturally, my hair is a very dark brown. The first time I dyed my hair I tried to lighten it to a medium brown. That attempt failed and gave my hair a red tint. I didn't like the look of it at all so to get rid of it I dyed my hair black. A few months later I talked to my friend's mother and she suggested I use a hair dye with the word "Ash" in the name. She explained that the ash will help remove the reddish color. I did that and it worked, only it failed too. What happened was because I had previously dyed my hair black, the new dye only took to the crown of my head where my natural color had been growing in. Ever since then I have been growing out that color that started at my crown. It's still in my hair to this day and it actually looks like I have ombre hair now, lol. I guess it grew out right on time for the trend!
Altogether my hair isn't very hard to maintain. The only thing about my hair that bugs me is that it gets frizzy, and I don't have a lot of room for variety with cuts. I did have a random, spur of the moment problem with my hair once, though. It was back a year ago in March and I had just gotten out of the shower in the morning before school. I felt the crown of my head with my fingers and it had a waxy feeling to it. I thought maybe I had just missed a bit of shampoo so I hopped back into the shower to rinse. As I got out again, I felt the same waxy residue. I didn't have much time before I had to go so I just threw my hair into a ponytail for the day. Later when I got home I told my mom about it and she had no idea what it could be. I figured the only thing I could do was research it on Google, and I did just that. I came across a topic on a hair forum and found that many women were experiencing the same issue I was. It seems that all the girls had one thing in common. We were using Pantene shampoo. Now I'm not trying to bash the brand in anyway, but that was just the case. One girl, who was a hairdresser wrote in and gave everyone a method to get rid of the residue. So basically she said to get a small bottle of the original Listerine(it's more of a yellowish-brown color), and a clarifying shampoo. I went out to the store and bought the Listerine and I got a bottle of the Suave Clarifying Shampoo. I got into the shower and took 1-2 caps of the Listerine and massaged it into the crown of my head. After that I took the shampoo and used that like I would any other shampoo, but mainly focusing on the scalp. It worked! I was relieved, and ever since I haven't used a Pantene shampoo. It just seemed a little weird to me that we all shared that in common.
Have any of you experienced that same waxy residue?
